MyAirCoach at the HIMSS Europe and Health 2.0 Conference 2018

MyAirCoach has been presented at the HIMSS Europe and Health 2.0 Conference held in Sitges (Spain) in May 27-29 2018, where representatives from hospitals, health authorities, health providers and innovators and patients gathered to learn more about the latest innovations applicable to healthcare.

Health 2.0 Europe is the annual gathering of digital health champions from all over Europe and overseas to explore international innovations in consumer health, patient care, digital healthcare technologies, big data and analytics, AI, wearable tech and engage with over 500 people like minded professionals from around the globe.  HIMSS Europe aims to initiate meaningful conversations and to create digital health marketplaces. This year, they wanted to focus on building content that stimulates meaningful conversations between all the key stakeholders: a conference with less talk and more action. HIMSS Europe was honoured to be supported by the Dutch Ministry of Health, who has brought immense added value to the programme. The renowned European Telemedicine Conference (ETC) was also featured in the conference, as well as a high-level C-suite workshop hosted by HIMSS-CHIME International.

The myAirCoach project has participated in this conference through an exhibition booth but also a live demonstration. During the event MyAirCoach partners (CERTH, EFA) had the opportunity to demonstrate the project scientific outcomes to several companies, organizations, researchers and experts with knowledge on a wide range of subjects concerning eHealth. The reactions of the visitors were enthusiastic and many people expressed their interest in the final product or in future collaborations for making myAirCoach the ideal tool for asthma patients.

The myAirCoach smart inhaler adapter and the air quality monitor device for tracking environmental data were presented in the exhibition area of the conference where attendees could see and test the devices as well as the mobile app. Moreover, Dr Antonios Lalas from CERTH, held a demonstration session on May 28th and showed the whole myAirCoach system in terms of devices, mobile app and web clinical platform. Specifically, it was demonstrated how the smart inhaler adapter helps the patients in improving their inhalation technique and consequently the adherence to their treatment and how the mobile app collects the data and makes them available to the patient and also the doctor through the clinical platform.
